Sole Surviving Kitten

These were the previous batch of kittens of Sweetie Pie. I took this picture while they were resting on the roof top.

However, this is the sole surviving kitten. The rest of the kittens went disappear one by one after Sweetie Pie abandoned them. The problem with Sweetie Pie is whenever she gets pregnant, she abandons her babies.

Unlike Mother Cat, she may get wary of her existing kitten, she may hiss at him, or stay a distant from him, but she will not abandon him. In fact, her kitten, which is few months old now, is still staying very close to the Mother Cat.
I guess different cats behave differently!

Anyway, I have been feeding this sole surviving kitten, which is about 2-3 months old now, yet she doesn’t allow me to pat her. She would hide under a car, and would not sneak out to eat the biscuits given to her until I walk far, far away from her.

If I were not free to feed her, she would fend for herself by scavenging for food at the Thai Muslim restaurant. This little courageous kitten stays only within the car park area. The only time I saw her wandering outside the car park was when she tail-gated the black cat, which I believe was her 'father'.

Greyie Is Terrorized By Black Cat

Before the disappearance of Greyie, he had been terrorized by the Black Cat. Now that he has returned, the same Black Cat keeps terrorizing him. This horrendous cat has been visiting the TNB site, which is Greyie and Snowie’s ‘home’, just to bully Greyie.
If I were there with them, the Black Cat dares not approach the TNB site. He would just sit at the far end corner staring at Greyie. He knows I am their protector!

These pictures were taken on 27 March 2010 and if you look closely, you would see the wound on Greyie’s thigh. My poor Greyie has scars on his forehead, his legs and body.
I poured water several times on his wound, and he was clever enough to clean it with his tongue. I hope the wound will heal as soon as possible.
I hope I would be able to do something about this Black Cat. He will go around terrorizing all young growing male cats living in this area, and I fear for the wellbeing of those cats.

Disappearance Of Sweetie

I was out of town for a week. When I came back, I went about to feed the cats as usual, and was looking so forward to see the kittens. I saw his siblings, Greyie and Snowie but not Sweetie. I thought to myself that he must have missed my calling and failed to show up.
The next day, he failed to show up again. I began to worry about his safety knowing that the Notorious Black Male Cat has been terrorizing them. I went looking for him around the area where these kittens normally spend their time. But, no sign of him at all.
He failed to show up the following day, the day after and it has been a week since he disappeared. I do not think he was adopted by someone. Most likely, he was driven away by the Notorious Black Male Cat.
I was very much saddened by his disappearance for I do love this kitten very much.

Greyie, Snowie & Sweetie Are Still Looking For A Good Home

Greyie, Sweetie and Snowie are growing bigger by the day. They are into their fifth month now. However, they are still homeless. There had been a couple of offers to adopt these kittens. But I rejected them for they did not meet the set requirements. If they were to be adopted, I have to make sure that they have a good home, loved and properly cared for. Otherwise, they are better off without a home.
I wish I could adopt them and provide them with a home. But I simply can’t because I am staying in a small apartment, and according to the apartment’s rules, I am only allowed to keep one pet. If I stay in a double-storey terrace house, I would certainly have adopted them.

Anyway, I must admit that these kittens are very smart. They recognize me by my foot step and the sound of my flip flop creates when I walk. This is how they differentiate me from the rest of the people walking along the pavement. The minute they hear my footsteps, I would find them running beside me. Why? It simply means their meal time and spending some time with them.

Sweetie Pie Still Hisses At Her Previous Kittens

Sweetie Pie got pregnant again two months after giving birth to four kittens. I took these pictures on 4 April 2009 while she was having her fish cum rice at the TNB area and on 21 April 2009 while she was resting at the covered car park after eating her biscuits.

Five days later, on 29 April 2009 I found her at the covered cark park and she had given birth. How many kittens? I don’t know for I have not discovered where she hides them. The moment she saw me, she jumped on her paws and started meowing at me. I knew she was hungry and wanted food from me. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring any with me. I had to turn back home, filled a container with biscuits, went back to the car park and gave it to her.

While she was busy taking care of her newborn babies, I was busy feeding her previous growing kittens. At times, Sweetie Pie would appear at the TNB area where I fed the kittens. She was there not to check on the well being of the kittens as she still hissed very fiercely at them when they tried to approach her. I had to prevent them from getting too close to her.

As before, I had to feed her separately, far from the kittens. They would stop eating at once and crawl very warily to the staircase and settle very quietly to observe their mother eating her biscuits as shown in these pictures taken on 23 May 2009.

Undoubtedly, every time after her meal she would hiss as she took a glance at her previous kittens before she walked away from them and disappeared into the pathway.

The Black Male Cat

Once upon a time, this Black Cat was the big brother especially among the male cats in this neighbourhood. He was aggressive, dominant and ferocious. The male cats and a handful of the female cats would sprint at the sight of this Black Cat.
He managed to fight and chase all the male cats away making him the one and only adult male cat in this vicinity. He may have won the battle but he ended up with eyes infection, severe scars and bruises on his head as well as certain parts of his body.
He may be notorious but he is still a fine cat which deserves a meal too. I took these pictures on 21 May 2009 while he was eating his biscuits cautiously at the cark park.

The Siblings - Sweetie, Snowie & Greyie

Adopt these Kittens. Provide them with a Home, proper Care and Love

You may also check it up at http://www.petfinder.my/pets/4766

These are the surviving babies of Sweetie Pie. Since the day the mother abandoned them, they have been begging for food either from the Thai Muslim restaurant’s patrons or the restaurant workers when I have not make my round feeding cats. They are currently living in the staircase of an unoccupied commercial unit below the apartment which I am staying.

Sweetie
Sweetie is very energetic, friendly and playful. To Sweetie, his meal time is the most important part of his life. None of his siblings and almost nothing would be able to stir him away from his biscuits. He would dip his head on the container full of biscuits and eat to his heart’s content.

Once he is done eating, he would groom himself, and play with his siblings jumping about the staircase and open space. At times, if I were sitting on the stairs he would go behind trying to provoke me to play with him, or he would grab my feet pretending to bite them. If I were to show him my hands, he would ‘kiss’ my fingers joyfully. He is indeed a kitten full of zest.

Snowie

Snowie is very shy and timid, sweet and mild natured. Once I gained her trust she becomes very friendly and allows me to pat her head as well as her body. She even turns her belly up for me to stroke. Sometimes, she would grab my fingers, lick and ‘kiss’ them, and using her hind legs she would kick my hands provoking me to play with her. Other times, she would sit quietly in between my feet.

Snowie takes her own sweet time to enjoy her biscuits. She would stop in between meal to groom herself. She is truly a very sweet kitten.

Greyie

Among the siblings, Greyie is most friendly and playful. He loves to lick my fingers, ‘kiss’ my hands, and meows for me to pat his head and caress his body while he purrs away contentedly. Most of the time, he will look straight into my eyes and meow pleasantly, then jump slightly up trying to grab my hand indicating he wants to play.

He is not the type of cat that dashes for his food at first sight. Instead, he will only eat his biscuits if he is allowed to rub his head against my feet. After his meal, he will groom himself thoroughly prior to continue to rubbing his head against my feet or sit very intimately next to me. What a charming kitten!

Sweetie Pie & Her Surviving Babies

I named her Sweetie Pie. She is one of the cats which i feed on a regular basis. I may say that she is one of the earliest batches of cats found wandering about the streets when I first moved in to the apartment which I am currently staying.

She was pregnant when I took this picture on 3 Dec 2008. She finished all the biscuits I gave her. Contented, she took a rest at the pavement outside the elevator's lobby of the apartment.

When I met Sweetie Pie one afternoon, she had given birth. I had no idea where she hid her babies. She looked very thin and frail. She meowed and ran toward me when she saw me. She knew I would feed her.

About a month ago, on 10 March 2009, I caught her with her kittens resting and playing at the apartment's lower ground cark park. For the safety of her babies, she has been moving her family about until she found a place which she thought was safe for her and her kittens, and settled there for good. However, the security guard who was so used to seeing me feeding the cats told me that one of her kittens was killed by a car. I was rather upset by the news.

Anyway, look at how they enjoyed the biscuits. And how happy the mother 'breast-feeded' her babies. And how contented they were, resting on the steps of the staircase after their meal. One happy family indeed!

Unfortunately, Sweetie Pie is pregnant again. Her pregnancy has caused her to be very hostile to her existing kittens. She would hiss and run away from them. She would not allow them to get close to her at all. This leaves me no choice but to feed the mother and kittens separately.

Finally, she abandoned the poor kittens. These adorable kittens began to treat me as their 'mother' ever since then. They would come running to me, knowing I have their meals prepared. They know I would stay and wait until they finish eating. They would rub themselves against my feet and 'kiss' my hands. Without fail, I would play with them for a while before I leave them all by themselves.
